The capital city of Managua, located
on the southern shore of Lake Managua, has
been undergoing many changes in the past 10
years or so. Managua was badly damaged by
earthquakes in 1931 and 1972 and was easily
classified as a third world capital not long
ago. Today Managua is the center of
Nicaraguan transportation, commerce,
finance, and manufacturing and is a major
cultural and educational site.
With four lagoons within the city limits,
luxurious shopping malls, high class hotels,
restaurants, bars, nightclubs and casinos,
Managua is a very appealing travel
destination. You will also find luxurious
coastal resorts, such as Montelimar,
offering all the pleasure of the beaches
along the Pacific coast.
