Welcome to the world of Caribbean Honduras. Coastal towns like Puerto Cortes, Tela, La Ceiba and Trujillo have long ago earned the title of Banana Republic from the heyday of the banana companies. This is a region of wetlands, overgrown canals, black water lagoons, secluded beaches, and picturesque fishing villages.

La Ceiba has been officially proclaimed the Eco-Tourism Capital of Honduras, with several national parks and wild refuge, the whitewater rafting paradise of the Rio Cangrejal, just to name a few. It has also been unofficially called La Novia de Honduras, or Honduras' girlfriend, having the reputation of being quite the party town.
