Entry requirements
Canadian citizens entering Grenada require some proof of
citizenship, such as a passport. Air Canada Vacations
strongly recommends the use of a passport for all
destinations. No health certificate is necessary. Landed
immigrants should consult the consulate or tourist board
about all pertinent formalities required.

Airport check in
It is recommended that you present yourself at the airport
counter of the airline indicated on your voucher 3 hours
prior to departure. Air Canada or Air Canada Vacations
representatives will be available starting at 5:00 AM.
Your arrival at destination
Airport procedures
A Carib Tours Representative will meet your flight and
assist you with ground transportation once you have gone
through immigration and customs.
Transfer
The Carib Tours Representative will guide you to your bus or
taxi for the transfer to your accommodation.
Hotel check in
Upon arrival at your hotel, please identify yourself at the
front desk with your Air Canada Vacations voucher. You will
then be assigned your accommodation. Generally, hotel check
in is at 3 p.m.
Your departure from destination
Departure information
The day before you leave, remember to consult the Air Canada
Vacations bulletin board in your hotel lobby for details on
your departure procedures and return flight. At hotels which
do not allow bulletin boards, please inquire about last
minute changes at the hotel front desk.
Hotel check out
Hotel check out times may vary depending on the property but
generally you must vacate the room by 12 p.m. (noon). For
passengers with late flights, every effort will be made to
provide you with a hospitality room, however, this cannot be
guaranteed, particularly during high season.
Duty-free Shopping
Duty-free shops are located either at the airport or in
St.George’s. After an absence of 7 days or more, Canadian
residents are permitted to return with a maximum of $750 CDN
of merchandise per trip without paying duty. Each time you
leave Canada for at least 48 hours, you are eligible to
declare up to CAD $200 of merchandise. A written declaration
may be requested. Each adult is allowed 1.1 litre (40 oz.)
of liquor and one (1) carton of cigarettes. If you include
cigarettes, tobacco sticks and loose tobacco in your
personal exemption allowance, only a partial exemption will
apply. You will have to pay a minimum duty on these products
unless they are marked “Canada - Duty paid”. Canadian made
products sold at a duty-free shop will be marked in this
way.

Local Air Canada Vacations office
Air Canada Vacations is represented in Grenada by Carib
Tours. The local office is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Monday to Friday. On Saturday and Sunday please call the
After hours number. Consult the Air Canada Vacations
bulletin board in hotel lobby for the representative's
schedule. Should you require the services of a Carib Tours

Emergency
You can ask for a doctor or a dentist through your hotel.
Please contact your Carib Tours Representative if you
require assistance. Keep all your receipts.
Banking
Business hours: Monday to Thursday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and
Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Canadian Bank operating in
Grenada is ScotiaBank. Barclays, Republic Bank, RBTT and
FirstCaribbean also offer International banking facilities.
Currency
The currency in Grenada is the Eastern Caribbean dollar
whose value is quoted in the business section of major
newspapers. Traveler's cheques are honored by most large
hotels and stores.
Credit cards
Credit cards such as American Express, Visa and MasterCard,
are generally honored.
Shopping
Stores are open from 8 a.m to 5 p.m Monday to Friday, on
Saturdays 8am to 2pm and two Supermarkets are open on
Sundays for a half day in Grand Anse and the Carenage, St
George's.
Local transportation
Taxis are available in Grenada. There is a local bus service
that runs through the island but with no specific schedule.
Car rental
Air Canada Vacations and AVIS* offer you the possibility of
a car rental. Kindly contact your Destination Representative
for rates and details upon arrival.
*Renter must be over 25 years of age and possess a valid
driver’s license and a major credit card. Remember to drive
on the left in Grenada.
Long distance calls
Please note if placing a call from your hotel room, to ask
the hotel operator about connection service charges. Using a
pay phone will avoid these service charges from the hotel.
Sightseeing

Tipping
Most hotels and restaurants add a service charge of 10% to
18% to the bill. If not, tipping is at the client’s
discretion.
Water
Tap water is safe to drink, but bottled water is available.
Electricity
Local power is 220 volts, A.C., 50 cycles. We suggest that
you bring your converter and electrical adapter (120 volts).
Converters are available to guests at most hotels.
Language
English.

Most religions are represented. For more information,

representative.

When it is noon in Grenada, it is
